Arsenal were the first Premier League club to show an interest in Barcelona’s Dani Olmo but face potential competition from Chelsea and Liverpool for him in January.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all lining up alongside a list of European giants for the Spanish midfielder.

The newspaper explains that the player’s developing situation at Barcelona, who are unable to register him at this moment in time, leaving Olmo as a free agent from January 1st, currently ‘transcends borders’.

Teams across Europe are aware of the situation and ready to position themselves to get the Spain star if he is available on a free from next month.

Arsenal were the first club in the Premier League to ‘show interest’ in the midfielder but their interest has prompted the rest of the ‘Big Six’ to knock on Olmo’s door.

Liverpool were reportedly interested in the summer and have ‘renewed their candidacy’ for him while Chelsea have also ‘made inquiries’ for the 26-year-old.

There is also interest from Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and former club RB Leipzig in Germany.

Olmo, for his part, is ignoring the growing noise around him and hoping that Barcelona can rectify the situation so that he can be re-registered in the squad.

It is his lifelong dream to play for the club and he would consider it the biggest disappointment of his sporting career if that were to be taken away from him.

There is every possibility that it might be, though, and Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all ready to send him proposals to move to the Premier League if it is.
