Two days ago, we covered claims from Italy which stated Bologna star Riccardo Calafiori is one step away from Arsenal.
It was also explained the defender’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is working to close the gap between the Gunners and the Serie A side.
These claims emerged a day after Gazzetta dello Sport said the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti now took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back it up and then provide the latest on this case.
The Premier League side have already tabled an offer in excess of €50m, likely including bonuses, for the centre-back.
The journalist claims Arsenal are speeding up talks with the Italian club to ‘finalise the deal’ for Calafiori ‘ASAP’. Bologna are aiming to collect as much money as possible for his sale this summer.
Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo also took to X to back up Galetti’s claim of Arsenal wanting to complete the deal quickly.
He states Mikel Arteta’s side expect to close the signing of the Italy international ‘within 24-48 hours’ for a fee around €50m plus bonuses. Calafiori has agreed a five-year deal worth €4m per year with Arsenal.
