Arsenal wanting Athletico Paranaense’s Vitor Roque has been discussed in Spain and Brazil in the past few weeks.
Last Thursday, Mundo Deportivo stated the Gunners are showing interest in the forward and need €35m to secure his services in the next window.
A day later, the Arsenal target revealed he dreams of making a switch to Europe, where Barcelona are also in the picture to sign him.
Sport now claim Mikel Arteta’s side aren’t the only Premier League side interested in the 18-year-old. However, the Brazil U21 international has ‘already ruled out’ the option to join Arsenal and other clubs in England.
The player said ‘no’ to the north London club because of his determination to join Barca in the summer. Roque ‘froze’ all the offers he had after he learned about the Blaugrana’s interest in him.
Xavi Hernández’s side are calm, knowing that the teenager’s priority is to sign for them. Athletico Paranaense are aware of this, although they aren’t willing to lower their requests.
Barca must lower their wage bill to carry out the Brazilian’s transfer. Meanwhile, Arsenal and other clubs are in for a disappointment in their pursuit of Roque.
