Wanting a left-back, Arsenal have been linked with numerous names so far this summer.
Ranging from Aaron Hickey (now at Brentford), Alex Grimaldo and a few others, it appears the Gunners have now thrown the kitchen sink at Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
None of this is new, having been reported in the English media, but there is now an update from France, with Santi Aouna for Foot Mercato bringing it.
In fact, Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘very confident’ about signing him, and ‘will accelerate in the coming hours to quickly complete the transfer’.
As things stand, talks between Manchester City and Arsenal are ‘advancing very positively’, meaning the Gunners are ‘very close to gifting themselves a new good recruit’ this summer.
Zinchenko made 28 appearances under Pep Guardiola last season, picking up five assists and two yellow cards.
