Sporting Club de Portugal defender Gonçalo Inácio would be interested in a move to Manchester United this summer if they make a move for him.
That’s according to O Jogo, who say the transfer to Old Trafford ‘appeals to the player’ and United have already made contact about a move.
They detail how Inácio ‘stood out’ in the matches against Arsenal in the Europa League earlier this season, something which put him on the radar of clubs around Europe.
Sporting had hoped that they could increase his termination clause to €60m to ward off interest, however, Miguel Pinho, his agent, ‘has been contacted’ and a departure is ‘becoming likely’.
Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in his signature and view him as a replacement for Harry Maguire. That would be a ‘top project’ which ‘appeals to the player’.
Pinho has already spoken to them about a potential transfer and the player is undergoing a change of heart on a move.
He now wants to leave, although he doesn’t want to force an exit, and it is now up to his suitors, including Manchester United, to come up with a proposal to convince Sporting.
