Even though Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte was many times said to be looking for a new right-back, that doesn’t mean he wants Emerson Royal gone immediately.
Italian outlet CalcioMercato.it today features a story saying Inter Milan are interested in the Brazilian, as the ‘rumours of a possible Nerazzurri attack’ for the player have been growing.
They claim to have had ‘access to an internal source’ in that negotiation. And their first information is that the Serie A side are still to place any offers for the Tottenham player.
Then there’s good and bad news for Inter Milan. The positive is that Emerson Royal sees the club as an ‘important destination’ and would not reject the transfer.
However, Antonio Conte would only let the player go in case Tottenham sign another right-back. It’s claimed the coach actually ‘vetoed’ the Brazilian’s departure until the replacement arrives.
All that operation should take a while, though, as Inter Milan also depend on the sale of Denzel Dumfries before they move for Emerson. That makes the whole scenario a little unlikely for the January window, with a bigger possibility in the summer.
