Over the weekend Spanish newspaper Marca reported Antonio Conte is insistent on signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, so much so that he’s willing to push Chelsea to offer €65m for the player.

This is now one of the most popular transfer stories in the Spanish sport media, covered far more often and more seriously than Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, and it would be no surprise if Conte and Chelsea get their man this summer.

Mundo Deportivo have also covered the strong Chelsea interest, and Conte is apparently adamant the deal gets over the line. Chelsea’s projected offer, with Mundo Deportivo also going for the €65m figure, would see Madrid double their money on what was paid out to Juventus last summer.

Morata himself has confirmed a serious Chelsea offer arrived last summer and Conte, should he still be interested, will be expecting better luck second time around.

For Morata, joining the Premier League champions, as Chelsea are expected to be, is more enticing than how the situation was last year.
