Malo Gusto was one of the players Chelsea signed in January. The west London club took the right-back from Lyon and let him return to the Ligue 1 side on loan until the end of this season.
Prior to agreeing a deal for Gusto, Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries was identified as another right-back target for the Blues.
Despite the Gusto deal, Chelsea continue to be credited with interest in the 26-year-old. Two days ago, InterLive.it reported it is ‘very probable’ for the Premier League side to win the transfer battle for him in the summer.
The Serie A side must raise €60m before the end of June to balance their books, and the Netherlands international’s sale could help them achieve this. This has seen Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio make a trip to London.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who explain the chief’s ‘blitz’ to the English capital is to ‘strengthen contacts with the main market operators’. Dumfries is one of the players who could be sacrificed after this season and Graham Potter’s side are still in the mix for him.
For the Dutchman, ‘all clues lead’ to Chelsea, who have long chased him. The Blues, for now, have postponed talks about Dumfries to the summer.
