Newcastle United have turned their attention to finding a striker, despite confidence that Alexander Isak will remain at St James Park.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who report that despite numerous inquiries, Isak is likely to remain at the club this summer. Reports yesterday indicated that Saudi Arabia had turned its attention to the Swedish international. It was even claimed he was open to the move.
RMC, though, say that despite these inquiries, the striker is likely to remain at Newcastle this summer. They’re instead looking for a partner not a replacement and Yoann Wissa is on the list after missing out of Hugo Ekitike.
Wissa is not the only target in the Premier League as Chelsea’s Axel Disasi is also among the target’s being looked at. He’s been given permission to leave Chelsea this summer.
Newcastle are considering adding to their defence but would face competition from Europe, with Villarreal and Juventus also in the mix. The latter have made inquiries about the defender, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.
The big news, though, is that Isak looks set to stay, at least as far as RMC Sport are concerned at this moment in time.
