As Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães still tries to prove himself with the national team, he’s set to have a very good opportunity for it.
The midfielder is ready to face England at Wembley at the weekend, and by being fully adapted to English football, he’s expected to help Brazil get a win.
Guimarães today spoke to the press ahead of the friendly, and in quotes by UOL, he talked a lot about his experience in the Premier League with Newcastle.
Some questions were about his future with the Magpies, and he claimed he’s not yet sure whether he’s staying at the club for much longer, despite being satisfied there.
“I don’t know exactly, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m happy at the club, I never know what’s going to happen. We’ll try to get to European tournaments, I can’t say much about football. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m happy at the club.”
In another question about his future, he also claimed that staying at Newcastle forever isn’t something in his plans.
“I’ve always wanted to play here, I’ve followed the Premier League. Everything’s been going well at Newcastle since I arrived, I play among the best. I plan to play here for a long time, but I’m also aiming to move in the future. I’m happy to be here in the league.”
Guimarães was also asked about his Newcastle teammate Anthony Gordon, and had some compliments for him.
“He’s fantastic, fast. You pass to him and you know he’s going to do something special, nobody deserves it more than him, he always scores, gives assists. I’m very happy for him and I hope he plays. It would be great to play against him, for me and for the club.”
Following the friendly against England, Brazil’s squad travels to Spain for a friendly at the Santiago Bernabeu, as new manager Dorival Junior is building the squad which will play the Copa America in the summer.
