It appears that Manchester City are on the verge of signing Jérémy Doku from Stade Rennais in Ligue 1.

That’s according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who took to Twitter to reveal the latest information he received on Pep Guardiola’s pursuit of the Belgian winger.

In a battle with West Ham, Manchester City were trying to get ahead of their London competition, and have seemingly managed it.

It’s explained that an ‘agreement has been reached’ between the Ligue 1 club and their English counterparts for the transfer of the winger to the Premier League champions.

Manchester City will pay a fee ‘slightly higher’ than €60m to acquire his services, and there’s even news about the medical.

The player’s compulsory checks are due to take place ‘this week’, with the belief that, if all goes well, the young forward will sign his Manchester City contract at the end of the week.

Sacha Tavolieri also provides some details, and says the player will fly to England on Tuesday before having his medical ‘on Wednesday’ ahead of signing a five-year deal.

His arrival will help fill the gap left by the sale of Riyad Mahrez, and provide a brand new attacking threat to an already lethal squad.
