Rennes have secured themselves the signing of Albert Grønbaek, who arrived at the city’s airport on Monday morning and is moving from Bodo/Glimt for around €12m.
That’s the Ligue 1 club’s first big hit of the summer window, and they’ve got more lined up just waiting to be completed.
Tuesday’s edition of Ouest France sounds confident that Glen Kamara should be one of the next to arrive, and they share some of the finances of the move from Leeds United.
Rennes have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ with Leeds United to buy Kamara for €7-8m. He’s expected to arrive from the Championship club in the next few days.
Then he’ll start pre-season training for Rennes, working under Julien Stephen’s orders at the sunny camp in Dinard.
Kamara joined Leeds United at the end of the August 2023 transfer window, for a fee believed to be around €6m. Therefore, the Whites are making some profit on the deal, even before a year of amortisation.
That’ll be another little help when it comes to incomings.
