According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray have made a last-ditch attempt to sign Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Super Lig champions this summer as they looked to bring in a central midfielder.

Erinç Bilican has spoken to Haber Sarikirmizi with regards to Galatasaray’s attempt to sign the Manchester United player before the Super Lig transfer window closes tonight.

The Turkish journalist claims the Istanbul side reached an agreement with the Red Devils, but the final decision came down to Casemiro. The 32-year-old didn’t fancy the move to Turkey and it seems he will be remaining at Old Trafford at least until January.

“Last night, they struggled in a last-ditch attempt to sign Casemiro. It was agreed with Manchester United, but not with the player,” said Bilican.

After his performance against Liverpool the former Real Madrid man has come in for criticism. Casemiro was taken off at half time during his side’s 3-0 defeat and it’s expected he will be replaced in the No.6 position by recent signing Manuel Ugarte.

He’s contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
