As reported in Brazil on Tuesday evening, AS Monaco matched Chelsea’s bid for Santos youngster Deivid Washington.
The French club had been following the player, and when warned that the Blues placed a €20m offer for him, they soon made the move.
Now as Globo Esporte feature a story on the situation, they claim Santos are waiting for Deivid Washington to decide between Chelsea and Monaco.
The club prefer Monaco’s offer because they’d get the money fast, but will not interfere on his decision and will let him make his choice.
Globo Esporte writes that Giuliano Bertolucci, who already worked on Angelo’s transfer from Santos to Chelsea this summer, will now have a meeting with Deivid Washington and his family to show both projects and lead them to a decision.
Santos are said to consider the player gone, and their new manager Diego Aguirre doesn’t even count on using him. They’re really just waiting to see where he’ll be moving to.
For now, there’s no information on whether the player has a deadline to take any of the offers.
