The agent of Rangers defender Rıdvan Yılmaz has revealed his client will not be returning to the Turkish Super Lig in the near future.
A regular last season under Philippe Clement, the 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Ibrox following reports of interest from Besiktas.
Fanatik journalist Gökmen Özcan has spoken to his agent Necdet Ergezen, who said the Rangers player will not be returning to Turkey anytime soon.
“Rıdvan’s career plan is to continue in Europe. There are no plans to return to the Super Lig in the near to medium term,” said his agent.
Earlier today we covered reports from the Turkish media that Besiktas are interested in re-signing the Rangers full back and were confident of getting a deal done. Yılmaz joined Rangers from the Black Eagles in 2022 and has previously been linked with a return to his former club.
It was also reported Yılmaz was keen to return to Istanbul after missing out on Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad, but these comments from his agent contradict this.
The Turkey international is contracted to Rangers until June 2027.
