Former Italian agent Massimo Brambati has revealed an £11m bid from West Ham for an Italian youngster, although which one remains to be seen.
The former defender and now agent has been speaking on TMW radio about various transfer situations at this moment in time in Italy and what’s going on behind the scenes.
One of the first questions was regarding Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who is currently negotiating a new deal at the Italian club, which is leading to various rumours and comments making their way into the press.
It was part of his response to this that Brambati revealed a friend of his was recently in Saudi Arabia with Inter Milan’s Piero Ausilio, when West Ham’s bid for an Italian youngster was revealed.
“The truth is one: an agent friend of mine was in Riyadh for lunch with Ausilio, I know that West Ham offered £11 million for Carboni, who is at Monza, but he said no,” he is quoted as saying by TMW.
The problem is that Brambati has not revealed which Carboni at Monza is the one that West Ham are currently interested in as there are currently two.
There is 22-year-old Andrea Carboni, a central defender who joined from Venezia last summer and Valentin Carboni, an 18-year-old attacking midfielder on loan from Inter Milan.
Now, given Brambati’s friend was speaking to Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio, we’ll assume West Ham are interested in the latter and made a bid for him, which is also what the local Inter Milan media are going with as well.
That’s the logical choice given who is speaking but he doesn’t make it clear so we’ll have to be cautious for now, but it may be a name to keep an eye on moving forwards, nonetheless.
