The future of Paris-Saint Germain star Javier Pastore is a big talking point in the media these days, with the Argentine star no longer deemed to be a key star at the Ligue 1 club.

Pastore made just 16 league appearances last season, and has been regularly troubled by injuries.

Recently, Get France Football News reported Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the Palermo star to Chelsea, and that the London club are keeping close tabs on the player. Juventus and Chinese clubs are also believed to be keen on signing the 27-year-old, who has a contract until 2019 at the Parisian club.

There have been similar reports in Italy and it’s clear someone is keen to get the story out there, either to drum up interest or to put PSG under pressure.

Pastore’s agent Marcelo Simonian has been speaking to Italian website Ilvero Milanista, and was asked about the interest of Italian coaches Conte and Allegri in the Argentine star.

Largely ignoring the question asked, Simonian insisted the former Palermo star played some brilliant football in Italy, but has been unlucky with injuries in France.

He said: “In Italy, he played some incredible football! Even at Paris-Saint Germain, Pastore had great seasons, for example last year and this year has been extraordinary, before being the victim of injuries.”

It remains to be seen if Chelsea are genuinely keen on signing Pastore considering his recent injury concerns, or whether Antonio Conte’s men are just seeing their name used as a way to attract others.
