Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes is now ready to sort out his move to Brazil, according to reports from South America.
The 25-year-old, who joined Club Brugge on a loan deal at the start of the season, has now rescinded his deal with the Belgian side and is ready to move to his home country, his agent has confirmed.
Representative Paulo Nehmy was interviewed by Globo Esporte, and said there are two Brazilian clubs who are currently fighting for the signing.
“Inter and São Paulo made a proposal, São Paulo directly to Aston Villa, but they have to communicate with the staff. The decision will be in the project that the clubs will have for Wesley on the pitch,” Paulo Nehmy told Globo Esporte.
“We will analyse the best fit for his style of play, so that he develops again. He has the dream of playing for the national team and there’s the World Cup next year. Having a great year, I think he can have a chance, because Tite liked him a lot physically and tactically.
“The best sports field project will be the differential for the choice. Before the new year let’s make a decision.”
ESPN Brasil also features a story on Wesley’s future, claiming that his situation should be sorted before Thursday.
They claim that besides the player’s wish, Aston Villa will also have their say on which choice he’ll make, as they’ll keep paying part of his salary and have him committed in a contract until 2024.
Following a knee surgery last year, the striker is still struggling to get playing time, with only seven appearances made this season. His physical situation was said to be the reason why Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras gave up on his signing.
