Fábio Silva has scored twice for Las Palmas since arriving at the club on loan from Wolves.
There’s still time to judge whether the 22-year-old’s latest loan away from the Premier League side will be a success or not, but it’s started reasonably well.
That’s seen some suggestions in Andalusia that perhaps Sevilla should have moved more strongly to secure a deal for themselves during the summer window.
As reported by Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla have held interest in Silva since Monchi ran the transfers at the Spanish club. Subsequently, they’ve seen him go out on multiple loans but never really pushed to secure him themselves.
During the summer, the Wolves player’s agent, Carlos Oliveira, spoke to Estadio Deportivo and flirted about a transfer to Sevilla. He backed up claims of interest going back to when Monchi was at the club, and said any player would be attracted by the Spanish side.
Instead this summer, Sevilla secured Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer, Peque from Racing Santander, and added them both to Isaac Romero. Unfortunately for Sevilla, not one of those forwards has scored in La Liga so far this season.
Hence them looking at Silva and wondering what may have been.
