AS Roma can’t compete with Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer for striker Jørgen Stand Larsen.
That’s according to AS Roma Live, relaying information from journalist Filippo Biafora, who explains that Roma simply can’t afford to match Wolves’ offer and so will be bowing out of the bidding for him.
They explain that the Italian side have said ‘farewell’ to their efforts to sign the striker, who they had targeted to strengthen their forward line this summer.
Roma absolutely need a striker for Daniele de Rossi’s squad and Larsen was on their list, but Wolves move for the Celta Vigo man has put an end to that idea.
Gary O’Neil’s side have reportedly put a €30m offer on the table for the 24-year-old and that would put them ahead of Roma and other suitors.
The Rossoneri had hoped to sign the striker for €25m but there is no chance of a deal being done at that price and there is certainly no chance of them matching Wolves’ €30m offer.
The Italian side are very much not in the running at this moment in time and seem unlikely to get into it because Wolves offer is already beyond what they can compete with.
