Wolves made a very late move for Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen in the January transfer window.
According to reports just after the close of the winter market, the Premier League club moved for the defender on deadline day and offered a little over £12m to Udinese, that was a million or so short of the Serie A club’s asking price and Udinese weren’t in the mood to compromise.
The Italian media then covered, as the months went on, a perception that Kristensen’s performances declined from that point onwards, perhaps after the player was distracted by transfer talk.
Ekstra Bladet have now spoken to the defender and he was asked about transfer interest and his future.
Kristensen is quoted as saying: “Now I have a three-year contract with Udinese, so they run the show. But it is clear that there has been interest in the previous windows, and there will most likely be that now too.
“It is not something that takes up much space… A lot can happen in this world all of a sudden.”
The 23-year-old will want to make sure he’s not distracted by transfer talk again, in case a move fails to be agreed this summer.
Whether Wolves will return or not remains to be seen but Ekstra Bladet don’t think he’ll be short of interest, including from the Premier League.
