With the English media reporting, or suggesting, a Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chase for Porto winger Yacine Brahimi, it’s no surprise the rumour gets big attention in the Portuguese media today.

Several newspapers are covering the reports on Monday, some without even giving credits, as if the club’s interest in the 28-year-old was something of common knowledge.

There’s only one outlet who questions these claims, which is local Porto newspaper O Jogo. They say the €25m amount reported by the English media isn’t exactly what Porto are expecting to make with the sale.

The main reason for it is because Porto only own 50% of Brahimi’s share. So considering how important the player has been for the club in the past few seasons, getting €12.5m from his transfer would sound ridiculous.

Yacine Brahimi is protected by a €60m release clause, and his price-tag is usually said to be that. However, with his contract expiring in June 2019, maybe this summer will be a good chance to get him for a bargain.
