As Chelsea’s pursuit for Kalidouly Koulibaly continues, the current scenario seems pretty good for the Blues.
Calcio Mercato claim the defender has told Napoli he has no intention of signing a new deal with the Italian club.
Now Chelsea would be preparing to make an offer of between €37m and €40m plus bonuses, with a five-year contract of €3.75m per year in wages.
Napoli reportedly don’t like the idea of selling the player, but the bid is said to be good enough for them to consider. The website says that in the end, Koulibaly’s wish will be decisive for the transfer to happen.
We’re not so sure. De Laurentiis, Napoli’s opinionated and entertaining chief, has already sold Gonzalo Higuain, which in turn may make him even more reluctant to let Koulibaly leave the club.
