Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea is very close to happening, according to Il Tempo on Monday.
The Rome based local newspaper breakdown the deal taking the pair to Stamford Bridge as €50m + €10m in bonuses, with the bonuses all that remains to be agreed upon before the move happens.
Il Tempo state this could happen anytime from today onwards, and there’s every chance the former Manchester City striker could end up on the ‘first flight to England’ in order to complete his transfer to Chelsea.
Monchi, down his end, is trying to get as much money out of Antonio Conte’s side as possible, while the Blues would like to send Michy Batshuayi to Roma on loan the other way in order for the Belgian to get some regular game time.
The Serie A outfit are said to be welcoming that idea, which Il Messaggero also touch upon in their version of the story, stating that while they aren’t against it, they don’t want him for just a six month loan.
The Premier League is referred to as an ‘old love’ for Dzeko, and while reports in England suggest he might need convincing to return across the Channel, Il Tempo don’t see it that way.
They even explain this weekend’s game against Inter could have been his last for the club.
