Former Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout has been named as one of the ‘transfer revelations’ in Serie A, along with the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov and Luis Alberto.
The Frenchman joined Fiorentina in the last transfer window after failing to make a real impact during his time at Villa Park.
TMW have put together a list of players who’ve taken the Italian top flight by storm since their arrival last summer, and Veretout has been selected.
Much wasn’t expected of the midfielder when he left Aston Villa for Fiorentina, but he’s been one of the standout players for the Italian club this season.
The Italian football outlet say Fiorentina have bought a player which can control a game, and also chip in with goals for his team. They go on to tip Veretout to get a call up to the France national team, despite the competition for places in Didier Deschamps midfield.
Veretout signed for Aston Villain 2015, but made just 25 appearances for the Championship side. Following Aston Villa’s relegation to the second tier the 24 year old was loaned out to Saint Etienne last season, before a permanent move away from the English side last summer.
