It’s no secret that Marco Silva is a huge fan of Leicester City’s Islam Slimani.
Having managed the Algerian international at Sporting CP, the Watford manager tried to sort out a reunion at Vicarage Road over the summer, which the player himself revealed, but to no avail.
It seemed that, despite only playing him sporadically, Leicester City were keen to hang onto their record signing, probably out of pride more than anything else.
The problem is, with all the attacking talent at their disposal, Slimani has ended up on the bench more often than not, and frustration is starting to take over.
Despite the arrival of Andre Gray from Burnley, the Hornets have had to rely on Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucouré for their goals, with three goals only coming from their three strikers.
Considering Slimani has scored in every game he’s started for Leicester this season, bringing in someone like him and, let’s say, getting rid of Stefano Okaka in January could really help out Watford.
Of course, the Foxes would want all, if not most, of their money back were they to let the former Sporting CP star leave King Power Stadium, but when have the Pozzo family held back when it comes to buying players for their cherished Premier League side?
