Tracked by the likes of Newcastle United and Sunderland back in December, there is still a strong possibility that Bordeaux’s Maxime Poundjé will be playing in England next season.
Despite this, the 24-year-old is still attracting interest and has apparently received a ‘concrete’ offer from Fulham in the Championship, according to Sud-Ouest in France.
While they managed to hold onto Ryan Sessegnon for a while longer, the departure of Scott Malone to Huddersfield for just over £3m means the Cottagers need another player in that position, as the trust in Sean Kavanagh doesn’t appear to be there yet.
Sud-Ouest also reveal that, as well as making the player an offer, Fulham have started speaking to Bordeaux about a deal for Poundjé, meaning negotiations are under way.
The defender has been given the green light for an exit by his current club, who renewed his contract ending in 2017 back in January for two more years, most likely in order to get some money for him this summer.
