Despite looking more and more likely to stay an extra season at Monaco, the story surrounding Kylian Mbappé refuses to die down, notably Arsenal’s interest in the player.
The French manager did his best to try and convince Mbappé that a move to London would be the ideal transfer for him, pointing out how beneficial it was for Thierry Henry, and basically explaining to him that he would be Arsenal’s new point of reference up front.
However, Arsenal weren’t the only ones to have a tête-à-tête with the 18-year-old and his family this summer, as Real Madrid did exactly the same, with both Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Pérez travelling.
Their aim was to try and convince him to sign this summer, and, out of the two meetings, it’s the latter of the two that convinced Mbappé the most, but Arsenal aren’t ready to give up yet.
Patiently waiting, the Gunners, despite signing Lacazette, could come back before the end of the summer if they see an opportunity to do so, especially with the finances at their disposal.
It’s not over yet.
