On Friday, we covered claims from Italy that Manchester City are heating up negotiations for AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders. It was also stated Citizens chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak could speed up the operation in the coming days.

A fresh report from Calciomercato states Pep Guardiola’s side want the midfielder for the Club World Cup in June.

The Netherlands international won’t ask for a sale but would give his approval if the two clubs were to find an agreement.

Manchester City haven’t made an official bid yet, although contact with Milan is ‘described as intense’. The report states these discussions have been positive even though there’s an initial difference in valuation.

The Premier League club would like to close a deal at €65m while the Rossoneri hope to collect €70-75m including bonuses.

Calciomercato indicate the figure that Manchester City could offer is something that Milan have to take into consideration. That’s because they have no unsellable players and will miss out on €50m for failing to qualify for Europe.

The 26-year-old earns €3.5m per year at the San Siro and the English club could double his wages, if he were to seal a move to the Etihad.

Niccolò Ceccarini, writing in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, states Manchester City are ‘ready to make a maxi offer’ for Reijnders. He adds the operation can be closed if the bid is around €70m.
