Alejo Véliz arrived at Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 and has been out on loan since January 2024.

After a disappointing spell at Sevilla, Spurs let him join Espanyol on loan last summer. The striker has scored four goals from 23 games for Espanyol and has to return to Tottenham after this season.

The former Rosario Central man could have an opportunity to return to Argentina. That’s according to River Noticias, and they cover River Plate’s desire to try and sign him in the summer.

On January 17th, Sebastián Driussi joined the South American club from Austin FC and has made seven appearances so far. Despite his arrival, River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo ‘wants’ the Tottenham owned player at his disposal.

Gallardo is looking for an attacker to play alongside Driussi and believes Véliz can be the ‘best partner’ for him, especially for the Club World Cup.

River Plate seem to be willing to please their manager as the report states they are ‘very interested’ in the Tottenham man.

Gallardo seems to have a clear plan for the 21-year-old, and he has to make a decision with Tottenham on his future in the summer.
