Caleb Okoli’s game time at Leicester City has reduced significantly under the leadership of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Italian has played only 48 minutes in the Premier League under the new Foxes boss and amidst that, has been linked with a move to Parma.
Now, it seems as if interest in Okoli is rising and Serie A side Cagliari are also interested in acquiring him in the ongoing January transfer.
This was reported by TuttoCagliari, who state the Sardinian outfit want to sign the centre-back on a dry loan deal. They have also spoken with the 23-year-old’s agent Alessandro Barison.
The defender’s representative has revealed that talks about an exit have taken place and that the defender’s future is uncertain.
“Yes, for the moment there has been a negotiation. Let’s see what happens between now and the end of the market.”
The report indicates Cagliari had tried to sign Okoli before he had joined Leicester City, but the player joined the Foxes from Atalanta.
Whether the former Italy U21s’ man seeks an exit or not remains to be seen but considering his low game time, a move away from Leicester City will only help him play regularly.
Since Cagliari only want him on a dry loan deal, he could return to the King Power as a better player in the summer.
