There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Aston Villa are close to sealing a deal for Kasımpaşa youngster Yasin Özcan.
The Premier League side have been linked with the 18-year-old in recent weeks following claims last month a verbal agreement had been reached between the two clubs.
A Spor report, via Ajanspor, on the latest developments regarding Aston Villa’s pursuit for the defender. They say Özcan will travel to England ahead next week of his proposed transfer to the Premier League side.
It’s claimed Özcan will sign for Villa and should soon be announced as their player. As previously reported, the English side have agreed a transfer fee of €8m with Kasımpaşa.
The young central defender was also linked with Liverpool during the last transfer window after claims the Merseyside club had made contact for him.
At the time it was reported the Reds had been following Özcan for a while but faced competition from Super Lig giants Besiktas.
Özcan, has made 16 appearances for the Turkish side in the Super Lig this season, providing one assist. He’s contracted to Kasımpaşa until June 2029.
