Last month, we covered claims Nottingham Forest and Brentford are in the picture to sign Slavia Prague’s El Hadji Malick Diouf.

The 20-year-old joined Slavia Prague’ from Norwegian side Tromsø IL at the start of this year and he’s made 37 appearances in all competitions, of which 28 are from this season.

He’ scored six goals and three assists while operating mainly as a left wing-back and his performances have caught Nottingham Forest and Brentford’s attention.

According to Africa Foot, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and the Bees are ‘in the running’ to sign him.

In addition to Nottingham Forest and Brentford, the Senegal international is also on the agenda of Villarreal and Stade Rennais.

El Hadji Malick Diouf’s contract lasts until 2028 but is open to changing clubs in the winter market. He makes it clear that the status of the club won’t be of any importance when making future decision.

The left-back claims the manager and the club’s sporting project are the key factors for him to leave the Czech Republican side.

“It’s normal for good performances to attract the interest of clubs. I often see the media talking about teams interested in me, but I leave that to my agent. I’ll stay focused on the pitch,” he told Africa Foot.

“I’m an ambitious young player, and my aim is to build a great career. If I have to change clubs, it will be to a team where the coach really wants me. I choose a club for its project, not for its name or prestige. I won’t leave just to leave.”

Nuno Espírito Santo and Thomas Frank have to present Nottingham Forest and Brentford’s projects respectively to try and sign El Hadji Malick Diouf.
