KRC Genk’s Konstantinos Karetsas has been included in Arsenal and Chelsea’s target list, according to Sport 24.

Genk initially signed the 17-year-old for their academy in 2023 and promoted him to their first team earlier this year.

The attacking midfielder made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, managing a goal and two assists in the process.

He’s attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, and these two teams ‘join the hunt’ to sign him. It’s claimed the Premier League duo’s interest in the player is getting stronger.

Arsenal and Chelsea have sent their officials to take a closer look at the Belgium U21 international live in action for the Jupiler Pro League side. The two clubs would have been convinced of his qualities, profile and potential to make their intentions clear.

Last month, the youngster signed a new contract until 2027 with the Belgian club. Despite this, the report states there could be bidding for him at the end of this season.

With Arsenal and Chelsea joining the hunt for Karetsas, they could battle it out for his signature next year.

The midfielder will turn 18 years of age in November 2025, meaning he won’t be able to arrive in the UK until January 2026.
