Max Wöber is yet to play even once for Leeds United in the Championship this season.
While an injury kept him out for two chunks in the campaign, even when fit he hasn’t been first choice for Daniel Farke.
Despite that, he was called up to the Austria national team by Ralf Rangnick and has been asked about his campaign so far at Leeds United.
The 26-year-old centre-back said he’s happy with how things are going at Elland Road even given the lack of game time.
Austrian newspaper Kurier quote him as saying: “Things are going well in Leeds, I understand from the coach that there is no reason to change anything. I have to remain patient.”
He was also asked whether he directly needs to displace Pascal Struijk, and Wöber admitted as much.
“That would be the goal.”
Wöber started the season with a fitness issue and then went away on international duty where he suggested it had been his fitness keeping him out of Farke’s team.
Then he was injured whilst on international duty, and hasn’t been a serious option for the manager since. Getting Struijk out of the team will be easier said than done.
