Brighton and Hove Albion legend Bruno Saltor is set to return to Spain and take charge of Deportivo de La Coruña.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the Brighton icon is ‘one step away’ from returning to his homeland to replace Iñigo Idiakez.
He was sacked by Deportivo after a disappointing start to the season that’s left them sitting 20th in the table with 10 points to their name.
He’s been working as a coach in England since retiring, first joining Brighton as a development coach before moving to Chelsea alongside Graham Potter.
That lasted less than a year and Saltor took temporary charge of the Blues before the eventual arrival of Frank Lampard then the permanent appointment of Mauricio Pochettino last summer.
He moved on at that point and has waited for an opportunity to come along and everything indicates that will come this week, with Deportivo pushing to hire him as their new manager following Iñigo Idiakez’s departure.
