Bryan Mbeumo needs to think about leaving Brentford soon and joining a club who are regularly competing in Europe.
That’s according to Jean II Makoun, via Africa Foot, who believes the time has come for Mbeumo to move on from Brentford.
Mbeumo is the undisputed star in Brentford’s team at this moment in time after stepping up last season considerably during Ivan Toney’s betting ban.
Toney has now departed for Saudi Arabia and Mbeumo has continued to shine in his absence, with six goals in eight Premier League games to date.
Those numbers have not gone unnoticed and while regularly being praised by fans and pundits alike, reports this summer had the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United thinking about a move for him.
That never happened but Makoun believes that Mbeumo needs to carefully consider his future in the coming months.
“I think it is time for him to take a step up,” he said.
“Without disrespecting his current club, I think it is time for him to go to a bigger club where he will have competition.
“A team regularly involved in the European Cup will be ideal. I think that will be the real turning point in his career, because he will enter another dimension with matches of another level.”
