From Colombia: Timescale now put on Yerson Mosquera Wolves layoff

Yerson Mosquera is set to miss seven to nine months out injured after suffering injuries to his medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament.

That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who reports that the defender’s absence will be determined by his evolution in the coming months.

Wolves confirmed today that Mosquera looked set to miss the rest of the season after he was taken off in the 82^nd minute of the 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at the weekend.

Initial fears were that he had suffered a serious injury as he was stretchered off and Wolves have since confirmed as much, with head of high-performance Phil Hayward releasing a statement on the matter and stating that scans had confirmed the worst.

He refused to put a timescale on Mosquera’s potential absence, but Sierra reports the player faces a minimum of seven months on the sidelines.

According to him the Wolves defender will undergo surgery in the coming weeks after suffering medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament damage.

That will leave him out for seven to nine months, although that will be dependant on his ‘evolution’ and the timescale could be worse.
