West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna has been linked with a move to Bologna. The Italy international joined the Hammers two seasons ago from Serie A side Juventus, but could be set for a return to his home country.
TMW have reported Ogbonna could return to Serie A in the summer because he has concerns over securing his place in the Italy squad for World Cup 2018. It’s been claimed Bologna could an ideal destination for the West Ham player, and it would all help persuade Italy coach Giampiero Ventura to select him for the national team.
However, West Ham would surely need to bring in a replacement first if they were allow Ogbonna to join Bologna.
Signed by West Ham manager Slaven Bilic from Juventus, the former Torino defender has made over 50 appearances for the club since his arrival in England. However, like many West Ham players, he came in for flak for some poor performances last season.
Ogbonna missed the final stages of the season due to injury.
