SPAL forward Mirco Antenucci has been linked with a move to Cremonese this summer. The 31-year-old only joined his current club last summer after being released by Leeds United.
TMW have reported on claims from Sky Italia that Cremonese have made an enquiry about Antenucci following their promotion from Lega Pro to Serie B. The forward has been inspirational helping SPAL achieve promotion to Serie A, and Cremonese will see his experience playing in the Italian second tier as being crucial for next season.
However, a deal will be complicated for Cremonese as SPAL will do everything to keep hold of Antenucci, and the player has always dreamed of playing in Serie A.
Antenucci left Italian football to sign for Leeds United in 2014, despite his desire to play in Serie A. The striker had success in his first season at Leeds United when he was the top scorer at the club, but he was in and out of the team in the next campaign.
Last summer Antenucci was released by Leeds United, but he landed on his feet with Italian side SPAL. The club have just won the Serie B title and next season will play in the top flight for the first time in their history.
