VfB Stuttgart will end up paying around €45m in total to sign Deniz Undav permanently from Brighton and Hove Albion.
That’s according to BILD, who report that the German side will end up paying a major fee for the German striker once his contract demands are factored in.
Brighton and Stuttgart have finally struck a deal for Undav today after weeks of drawn-out negotiations and public declarations from the striker making it clear he wanted a permanent transfer to the club he spent last season on loan with.
BILD pick up on that and report that, according to their information, the Swabians have agreed with Brighton to pay just under €27m, but that can rise to just under €30m through bonuses. The final details of that agreement are now being clarified before the move goes through this week.
The Germans will end up paying more than that, though, as once Undav’s contract is included in calculations the fee will be considerably higher. That had been the big worry, with the player wanting big wages.
In fact, with a contract set to run until 2027, the package Stuttgart will pay is likely to end up costing around €45m in total, a clear sign of the faith they have in the Brighton striker.
