According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce have stepped up their pursuit for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge.
The Norway international has been linked with the Super Lig side in recent weeks following claims they were to hold transfer talks with the player and club.
TR Haber have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Berge at Burnley, and they say an official offer has come in for the player. Jose Mourinho is said to be keen to bring in the Norwegian as he continues to strengthen his midfield ahead of next season.
It’s claimed Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco has been in contact with Berge’s agent and that they are hoping to finalise a deal soon.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey that Branco planned to travel to England to hold transfer talks to sign Berge. It was reported the former Sheffield United player was on a five-man list of central midfielders Fenerbahce are targeting.
Berge made 40 appearances last season for Burnley, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the Turf Moor club until June 2027.
