Last week, Corriere dello Sport stated Tottenham Hotspur are ahead in the race for Albert Gudmundsson. The Premier League side aren’t the only English club chasing the Genoa star as West Ham United are also in the picture.
That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by Pianeta Genoa 1893, who say Tottenham and West Ham have both included the 27-year-old in their list for the summer window.
Their title says the ‘Premier League is pushing hard’, and within the report, both Spurs and the Hammers are mentioned.
Lazio, who were the latest club to join the race, have offered €20m plus Matteo Cancellieri in exchange for the Iceland international. This doesn’t please Genoa, who have requested ‘€40m in cash’.
Although it’s said the Premier League clubs are ‘pushing hard’ to sign him, there isn’t anything regarding what Tottenham or West Ham are willing to pay.
Sportitalia state the track leading Gudmundsson to Lazio isn’t viable. They add the player has received approaches from the Premier League, without mentioning details of these clubs.
Gudmundsson managed 16 goals and five assists from 37 games last season.
