Last Thursday, Leeds United’s Diego Llorente said he’s unsure of where his future will be after spending the last 18 months on loan at AS Roma. He also stated that he and his family have been happy with their lives in Italy.
On Monday, Corriere dello Sport reported the 30-year-old is keen on extending his stay with the Serie A side.
The Italian club are looking to retain the Leeds player if a report from Gianluca Di Marzio is to be believed.
Di Marzio claims a meeting has been scheduled today between Ghisolfi and the Giallorossi’s owners to discuss their plans for the summer window. He adds that Roma’s ‘first move’ is to sign the Leeds owned centre-back.
Llorente has featured regularly since Daniele De Rossi was appointed as José Mourinho’s successor in January. The Spaniard’s performances have convinced De Rossi, and it’s now Ghisolfi’s job to secure a deal for him to please the manager.
The Italian journalist adds that the type of operation [loan deal or permanent transfer] still needs to be determined, presumably during negotiations with Leeds United.
