Manchester United’s Spanish contingent of Ander Herrera, David De Gea, and Juan Mata seem to keep each other happy. Clearly friends on and off the pitch, the three have grown very close whilst playing at the club.
Mata has recently been out injured and, speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, Herrera was asked if the former Chelsea player has been missed: “Always. His game brings goals. I always say that Juan is a reliable player, who at the end of the year always exceeds 10 goals and 14 assists. He does not fail. He never goes down from a 7, doesn’t know how to play badly.
Marca have heard a rumour that Herrera and Mata are such good friends, and have such a good football understanding between them, that they’re planning on becoming a 
coaching double-act after their playing careers.
“I don’t think Juan would have me as head coach. I’m more obsessive about football, I find it hard to disconnect. I see and analyse a lot. He doesn’t so much.
“Sometimes he tells me I’m too intense [laughs], that it’s too much football for him. I also think that being a coach is very complicated and I doubt that in the future it’ll happen.”
The pair are clearly good friends and they’ll be hoping their Manchester United Spanish quarter doesn’t lose a member during the summer transfer window.
