While the idea that Trabzonspor are interested in Rangers defender Borna Barisic has been around for a few days, there is now a nice update in Turkey about their plans for Philippe Clement’s man.
This comes from Ajansspor, who have a big article dedicated to his potential transfer away from Ibrox in the coming months.
They relay news from Yunus Emre Sel, who stated that the Süper Lig side have put the 31-year-old Rangers player ‘on their agenda’ for the summer transfer window, having this time the chance to get him on a free after previous attempts.
It’s added that the manager, Abdullah Avci, has given his approval for the approach, which is why ‘talks have started’ to sign the defender, whose contract at Ibrox expires at the end of the season.
Trabzonspor have ‘invited’ the player’s agent to travel to Istanbul in order to hold further talks, and it’s said they ‘will gain momentum’ in the next few days, after which the ‘official offer’ to the Rangers player will be made.
Once the star of the show at Ibrox, Barisic has seen his game time dwindle a bit after the arrival of Philippe Clement, with him making just 13 starts in the Premiership to date.
