West Ham United were one of the clubs credited with interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy in the winter market but no deal took shape.
The Premier League side are still in the picture to sign the 27-year-old. That’s according to Bild, who state West Ham have recently shown interest in the striker.
The Guinea international has managed 20 goals and registered two assists from 20 games this season and his fine form has seen him draw attention from other clubs.
The West Ham target is open to changing clubs as long as his demands are met. The report states Guirassy, who currently earns €3.5m per year at Stuttgart, wants an annual salary of €10m.
Bild state Bayern Munich have already discussed the possibility of signing Guirassy to become Harry Kane’s backup. Although they can afford to meet his salary demand, there are doubts if they want to offer such high wages to a second-choice striker.
West Ham may be able to meet the frontman’s request but it’s not clear if he would be open to joining them.
Guirassy ‘will be allowed to leave’ Stuttgart and it needs to be seen where he’ll end up next.
