Arsenal and Manchester United are today mentioned as two contenders to sign Amadou Onana from Everton.

The story comes from Spain, where they’ve been reporting Barcelona’s plan to sign the midfielder in the summer.

Sport writes that Everton are open to the possibility of letting Onana move at the end of the season, and the Camp Nou side are now aware of how much it’d take to land him.

Barcelona want to pay something approaching €40m for the player. The problem is that the Toffees would like to ‘double’ his price and ask for €60m, an amount which is considered ‘exaggerated’ by the La Liga giants.

Another problem for the Catalan club is that Arsenal and Manchester United have both ‘shown their interest’ and would like to present an offer as soon as the market is open.

The Gunners and Red Devils reportedly ‘have the capacity’ to cover Everton’s demands, and that’s why the Toffees aren’t very confident Barcelona can win that race.

It now remains to be seen whether offers from Arsenal and Manchester United will really arrive. Either way, Barcelona likely have to change their outlook, especially now relegation looks less likely for Everton due to their points return.
