Leeds United may have been given their chance to finally sign Galatasaray’s Kerem Aktürkoğlu, with the player having ‘decided to leave’ the Turkish side.
That’s according to FotoSpor, who report that the player is frustrated at being undervalued by his club and now wants a move abroad.
They explain that Aktürkoğlu, who was wanted by Leeds in January, has become increasingly annoyed with his lack of earning power at Galatasaray, with his current salary over a year only equal to what loanee Tanguy Ndombele earns in a month.
He’s less than happy with that given their respective value and contributions to the team, as well as the fact that there has been talk of an increase that has not come to anything serious.
He’s instructed his agent not to talk to Galatasaray about an increase in his salary, such is his desire to move on, further strengthening the idea he’ll be securing a transfer.
That should be of interest to Leeds, who were keen on the player in the January transfer window.
Several reports that month credited them with an interest, with it even claimed they had ‘taken action’ to try and make a transfer happen.
The move was eventually blocked by Galatasaray but now Aktürkoğlu has made his intentions clear, Leeds may now have their chance to get a deal done.
