Marquinhos may not have left Arsenal on a new loan yet, but that transfer is apparently close to being concluded.
An update on this situation is brought by journalist Jorge Nicola, who claims it’s Fluminense who lead the race for the signing.
The reporter spoke to some of Marquinhos’ representatives, who confirmed that the Tricolor ‘should be’ the destination, as their manager Fernando Diniz got involved in the talks and that accelerated the process.
Nicola claims that Corinthians had also been interested in the player, but it’s really the Rio de Janeiro club who should get to sign him.
It’s explained that since most of the European transfer windows are now over, there are few options for the winter, who should really return to Brazil.
Last week, reports from the Brazilian media claimed Marquinhos’ loan from Arsenal to Fluminense was done, but it seems there are some details getting sorted.
Especially because the player is out with Brazil’s U-23 squad in the pre-Olympic tournament, so the transfer shouldn’t get concluded before the end of that.
